A useful home setup is not about buying everything. Start with a properly mounted board, protect the room, fix the lighting, and only then think about smaller upgrades.

Spend in the right order
Fix the setup before changing the darts.
Consistent dimensions and clear sight of the board affect every throw. Barrel shape, weight, and flight choice are personal, so they are better explored once the basics are stable.
Protection
A surround protects the wall and makes missed groups less expensive while you practise.
Lighting
Even light removes segment shadows and keeps the board readable later in a session.
Darts
Change one variable at a time. More expensive darts do not automatically suit your throw.
